Rude, slow, condescending, and will...
- What did you like most?The property is in an awesome part of town. The lobby was clean and the environment was super safe. The restaurant and bar were amazing.
- Was there anything you didn't like?Asked for early check in and was advised it was confirmed. Upon arrival at the facility we were notified that the room wasn’t ready, and that a rush order had been entered for the room to be cleaned. We were advised that a text message and email would be sent to our phones notifying us of the check in availability. FIVE HOURS LATER……we return to the hotel. It’s now 4pm which was the listed check in time. Staff explains to us at this point that our room is not ready and that we have been placed in a queue. The desk clerk was extremely rude when we questioned why our room was not ready and explained that we were exhausted. He simply walked away. He then proceeded to check in people of a differing race, same as his and provide them with rooms. Yes I’m going there. Yes I believe it was racially motivated. I am white in case you’re wondering. He was not. After another hour I returned to the desk and explained we had gotten reservations at another hotel across the street and would like a refund as we had prepaid. He explained he could not do that. When confronted with the signed contract and agreement, the terms listed stating that he very much could, he began to raise his voice. I explained that there was no reason to use profanity and scream at my wife and myself, especially with an infant present. At this time a manager emerged from her lair and stated she was upgrading us to a suite. I declined and stated I wanted a refund so we could leave. She stated that she was refunding our money and providing the an “upgraded suite”, apparently this was above an already upgraded suite for free. She politely asked that we did not call a corporate office to complain and that she was sending the employee home. We agreed to stay as at this point we were exhausted. On the way to our room, we passed the cleaning staff sitting in a suite next to ours. They were conversing and made a snide comment in Spanish.
