Great bones, good location, needs...
- What did you like most? The room was large and well decorated, in a very convenient location for our purposes, close to the Grey Cup festivities at the Convention Center. Security is evident both by carded elevator entrance and off-street after-hour entry, also carded. Also close to good restaurants.
- Was there anything you didn't like? Our room was only tidied up once during our five night stay, obviously a busy time at the hotel, but still. One of the most silly shortfalls was the location of the toilet paper roll in the bathroom - 30" from the forward edge of the toilet, with an at least 18" backward stretch. Both my husband and I are over-average height and have long arms and WE were stretching. For a shorter, less mobile person, this could cause a fall (which is ironic, given the sturdy grab bar inches away from the bathtub). We strongly suggest moving it forward by 24" under the vanity (easily done) which angles closer to the toilet - just common sense. A few visual tweeks, such as gluing the drywall paper back on the ceiling around the fan would help too. It would be nice to be able to close the light blocking curtain as the light pollution was distracting and we didn't really want to entertain the downtown core (lol).
Very good
- What did you like most?Great location — right next to Canada Life Centre and within walking distance of the train station and The Forks Market. I stayed for two nights and really enjoyed the breakfast at the hotel restaurant. Staff were friendly and everything went smoothly.
- Was there anything you didn't like? The only downside was the noise; you can hear people in the hallway quite clearly.
