Fantastic location and comfortable stay that could be improved with a few minor tweaks
- What did you like most?Excellent Location near downtown Coconut Grove and lots of great restaurants and shops. Clean room with comfortable bed.
- Was there anything you didn't like?Minor issues like: 1. required expensive valet parking which required a valet to get one's car every time. 2. A coffee machine that is timed to become free at 7AM but not before 7AM. Seems cheap for a nice property 3. Was charged slightly more than the final price on booking.com with an explanation that was not really clear
Unpleasant interaction with staff ruined our stay
- What did you like most?The location, in the heart of Coconut Grove, is exceptional.
- Was there anything you didn't like?As hotel guests, we were given no choice but to use the valet, which was both expensive (more than 40 per night) and inconvenient in that I needed to call for the car several times during the day. Air B & B guests are allowed to park on their own, but not us. Also, the front desk staff did not make us feel welcomed. The woman on duty most days never smiled or said good morning. When the key to our room stopped functioning, and we couldn't enter our room on the 20th floor, we had to return to the lobby and wait at the end of a long line. When we tried to explain that we'd already checked in and the key we were given didn't work, the woman at the desk snapped at us to wait on line. No apology. No expression of concern. A hotel guest anywhere should be able to expect to be treated better than that. It soured our stay at Arya, and would keep us from recommending it to our friends, despite its great location. There are other hotels near by.
